Hertz and Zipcar, Enterprise has declared that it will begin daily and weekly rentals on Chevrolet Volt at one of its Southern California locations afterward this month. The place is also said to have a charging station on board. The enterprise, in orientation to the ease of use of cars said, that it will also enlarge the availability of some more electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids to cater to more than 5000 of its customers.
According to the enterprise, the very reason for set up electric vehicles like Chevrolet Volt and Nissan Leaf on rentals is to provide an opportunity to customers to obtain better clarity with the new technology ahead of they make a decision on buying it.
The company has seemingly ordered for 500 Nissan Leafs and charging stations have been installed at the relevant Enterprise offices in Los Angeles, San Diego and Santa Monica, California.
The first Nissan Leaf will be on rental in Carson, California. Nissan Leaf is the first mass-produced electric car for sale from the enterprise. The mid-sized five-door hatchback Nissan Leaf was commenced in Japan and U.S in December 2010.
