Tightening the noose on auto lifters, the Supreme Court on Tuesday prearranged to set high-security number plates on the vehicles till April 30.The deadline set for the new vehicles in Delhi to sport high safety number plates is April 30 and for the old vehicles it is June 15.
HSRPs (High Security Registration Plate) are tamper-proof and destined to assist law enforcement agencies in tracing vehicles that are concerned in crimes.
The significance about the court on this issue can be gauged by its caution. While issuing note to Andhra Pradesh government for disdain on February 8, the courtyard said it was closing the part on the issue of tamper-free high safety number plates in vehicles by giving time till April 30 for new car and June 15 for old vehicles. “By this time the whole procedure has to be finished.”
Earlier, the Supreme Court had warned all state governments to make sure tamper-free high safety number plates in auto, directing them to apply the system within four weeks.
